The morning had started out like any other summer day, throughout the entire world. People had awoken, be it to snow or sand, and started their daily routines, as usual. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Soon, though, this would all change. As the day went on, night for some, a sudden fog seemed to devour entire cities at once. It moved throughout the mainland, spreading from place to place, soon capturing the entire world in its suffocating embrace. Sure, some thought the entire world experiencing this all at once was odd, but people carried on, unworried. They were reassured that it would lighten up, and their lives would be back to normal in no time. Though, after hours, just when it looked liked the unsettling fog would lighten up, it did the opposite.
The world turned to hell.
Sudden winds picked up, as rain showered down relentlessly. It drowned entire towns within hours, while the lightning strikes set the only things left above sea level aflame. Trees were pulled from the grounds and tossed recklessly about into the madness, and it didn’t take humans long to realise something was terribly wrong. People clutched onto their loved ones as darkness set, the only light the warm glow of the raging forest fires. They ate away land quickly, leaving the desperate people nowhere to go. However, people aren’t what this story is about. No, an entirely different species is the main focus here.
The Equines.
People have always said Equine have another sense. It seemed this is where it came into play. Horses escaped from their enclosures and stables, all banding together in one, desperate search for safety. As the lands started to descend under water, they trekked uphill, in attempt to save themselves. Foals and elders were whisked away within the storm, but the stronger horses soon took the plunge into the rising ocean. It was their only chance; their only hope. They didn’t know where they were going, or how they would get there. No, instead they just followed their instincts, and worked together.
The horses swam for days on end, most dying off from fatigue and or drowning. However, the strong-willed horses stayed firm, and swam, until they were sure death was among them. It was after two days of swimming and pure, unbridled will, that the groups of Equines hit land. They arrived on a large island, completely deserted from all human life. More and more groups of horses started arriving to the island, and soon, herds started emerging. The previously wild horses took rain quickly, while the others struggled, but in attempting to survive, they made it.
There’s no way of explaining how they knew. How they predicted the disaster and fled, trusting their instincts entirely, and because of those choices, are now living and breathing. One way or another, the Equines of the main land fled, in the middle of chaos, and saved their lives. However, will they be able to survive here, in this new land? It’s unlike their own, and not only are they companied by horses like themselves, but many others, with other intentions. As horses separate into alliances; Light, Dark, and Neutral, a divide between lands was created. Who’s side will you be on?Dark?
Neutral?
Or Light?
It’s your choice.
